Salary: Starting salary £27,000 pa gradually increasing to £44,000 pa on completion of training and gaining experience.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Airport team as a Trainee ATSEP, within the Air Traffic Engineering team in the Air Traffic Services Department. This is an opportunity for a new and rewarding career, with full training, relevant courses and support provided by the Airport.

Pilots and Air Traffic Controllers require equipment such as radios, communication systems, navigational aids and lighting to operate safely. ATSEPs are responsible for installing and maintaining this equipment to the required standard.

Training typically takes up to 2 years, including theoretical and practical training. The role includes maintenance, repair, installation, and management of Air Traffic Systems and Aeronautical Ground Lighting to ensure the safe and efficient operation of Air Traffic Control (ATC).

The candidate must have a UK drivers licence, and ideally will hold a B-Tec level 3 or be ONC qualified in Electrical, Electronics or Avionics Engineering or have experience of working in an Electrical, Electronic, Avionics or Telecommunications environment. We are looking for a quick learner who is technically minded, pays attention to detail, communicates well and works well independently and within a team. They will have the ability to obtain the required knowledge to pass ongoing assessments and continuation training, this includes performing maintenance tasks and skills, demonstrating a positive attitude towards safety.
